In February 2017 the ceremony of the award for the highest achievements in the field of business
aviation “Wings of Business” took place. Mikhail Titov – is director general of “Business

“The II Ceremony of Wings of Business Award will take place on the 16 th of February 2018 in
Moscow. Likewise last year I cordially invite all to participate in the project – nominate
organization in one or several of the offered categories, buy ticket and attend the ceremony, and I
call upon RUBAA members to take active part in personal voting!
The Award is an absolutely transparent competition, together we not only make a summary of
2017, we create history!
Wings of Business Award is a flagship project of the Russian United Business Aviation
Association; this guarantees a most full comprehension of the industry and objective selection of
In general the project itself is long and complicated, and I am truly glad that is it developed and
supported by the industry and wider: passengers of business aviation, aircraft owners should pay
attention to Wings of Business; exactly those who are presented at the award handle quality,
comfort and safety of flights for VIP passengers. I was pleased to see many of them at the first
ceremony and hope they attend “Wings” again in 2018.
As we have just celebrated the New Year, I will take this opportunity and will try to make a
forecast in regard of Business aviation in Russia for 2018.
So, the market is now awaiting for the results of customs duties cancellation for now all popular
business aircraft types independently of MTOW. It is logical to suppose that it is done in major
part to transfer the business aviation infrastructure to the Russian jurisdiction. The owners will
not have more reasons not to import the aircraft for the reason of high customs payments.
Besides all, importation of a business aircraft to Russia is the best opportunity to avoid influence
of corporate and personal sanctions in the field of air carriage, as it depersonalizes the carriage.
Next step in same direction can become complication of temporary import procedures of the
aircraft that are not imported to Russia and, correspondingly, of permissions to perform flights in
Russia, especially for domestic flights.
Thus we are on the threshold of a true revolution. Many years Russian airlines and operators
were waiting for their chance, many times losing in the hard competition with their Western
opponents. Looks like their time has come!
Multiple broker companies will be replaced by air taxi with high technology sales platforms,
where booking a jet will not be more difficult than buying a ticket for a regular flight.
The Russian market will also be quickly loaded by light jets. The market will also demand price
reduction for FBOs and other services; this together with a lower cost for a flight hour will lead
to a solid price decrease on market. And, as a result, growth of sales through involvement of new
customers from the number of “middle” class and companies’ top management.
In conclusion, I would like to again congratulate all on the New Year and wish success and
